WHAT IS THE LOCATION OF THE 2019 NATIONAL BROWNFIELDS TRAINING CONFERENCE?
The 2019 National Brownfields Training Conference will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center West located at 1201 S. Figueroa St., Los Angeles, CA 90015.
HOW DO I SECURE A HOTEL RESERVATION?
An abundance of discounted sleeping rooms will be available through EventSphere, the official housing agency of the conference, at eight local hotels within walking distance to the Los Angeles Convention Center. Please visit the Hotel tab for more information and to book your room. IS THERE COMPLIMENTARY WIRELESS INTERNET?
Yes, complimentary wireless internet will be available in all public areas and meeting space at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
WILL A COAT CHECK/BAG STORAGE BE AVAILABLE?
Yes, coat check/bag storage will be available during registration hours on the first floor of the West Hall Foyer of the Los Angeles Convention Center.
WILL A MOTHERS ROOM BE AVAILABLE?
Yes, a comfortable room is available at the Convention Center, on Level 1 across from Petree Hall, for nursing mothers.
WHEN WILL THE ASK ME! INFORMATION DESK BE OPEN?
A Brownfields ASK ME! Desk will be available during all registration hours on the first floor of the West Hall Foyer of the Los Angeles Convention Center. The desk will open at 8:00 am on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 and remain open for the duration of the conference during registration hours.
WILL CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS (CEUs) BE OFFERED?
Yes, CEUs will be offered. Please visit the CEU counter at registration for more information.

WHEN WILL ON-SITE REGISTRATION BE OPEN?
Registration will be open during the following hours on the first floor of the West Hall Foyer of the Los Angeles Convention Center:
- Tuesday, December 10, 2019: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm
- Wednesday, December 11, 2019: 7:30 am – 6:30 pm
- Thursday, December 12, 2019: 7:30 am – 7:00 pm
- Friday, December 13, 2019: 7:30 am – 1:00 pm
WHEN DOES THE CONFERENCE PROGRAMMING BEGIN?
The conference will begin at 8:45 am on Wednesday, December 11, 2019. Starting with the 8:45 am Opening Plenary Session, the conference will run until 6:00 pm Wednesday (December 11th), 8:30 am – 8:30 pm on Thursday (December 12th) and will end at 12:45 pm on Friday, December 13, 2019. Pre-Conference Training Workshops will take place on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 between 9:00 am – 3:30 pm. Programming times subject to change
WHAT ARE THE REGISTRATION FEES TO ATTEND?
In order to offset the cost of the conference, nominal registration fees continue to be implemented for Brownfields 2019. Please be advised that registration fees increase once pre-registration ends on Monday, December 9, 2019. See the Registration Page for more information. Registration cannot be processed until payment is received.
WHEN DO THE ON-SITE REGISTRATION FEES BEGIN?
The on-site registration fees will apply beginning on December 10, 2019 at 8:00 am. The on-site registration fee is the same for Academia/Students and Community Groups/Environmental Justice/Non-Profits and slightly higher for Federal/Local/State/Tribal Governments and the Private Sector. Payment options are cash, check (payable to ICMA) or credit card. Please visit one of the on-site registration counters located on the first floor of the West Hall Foyer of the Los Angeles Convention Center.
ARE SPEAKERS GIVEN A DISCOUNTED REGISTRATION FEE?
Yes, a 20% discount for speaker registration is available until December 9, 2019 at 11:59 pm. This discount cannot be combined with any other discounts offered for Brownfields 2019. Please be advised that registration fees increase once pre-registration ends. On-site registration fees begin at 8:00 am on December 10, 2019.
CAN I REGISTER MY SPOUSE AT A DISCOUNTED RATE?
No, all attendees are required to pay a standard registration fee. With the economy and government limitations, we have restructured this meeting to be a working business event with the opportunity to network professionally and attend educational programming.
CAN PAYMENT BE MADE VIA PURCHASE ORDER?
Yes, please contact QMS directly (888-373-9617) for further instructions. Purchase order requests must be received by October 11, 2019 for processing and payment. Registration cannot be processed until payment is received.

HOW WILL THE CONFERENCE REGISTRATION CHARGE APPEAR ON MY CREDIT CARD STATEMENT?
Once a registration transaction is completed, the charge will appear as “ICMA ONLINE”.
WHAT ARE THE OTHER OPTIONS FOR REGISTERING IF I DON’T WANT TO REGISTER ONLINE?
If you do not want to register via the online registration site, please visit the conference website and download the printable official registration form under the Registration tab. Please be advised that payment must be received with the registration form in order for your registration to be processed.
WHAT IF I REGISTER FOR SPECIAL EVENTS (Mobile workshops, Community Reception, etc.) VIA THE OFFICIAL REGISTRATION FORM AND THEY ARE SOLD OUT WHEN MY REGISTRATION IS PROCESSED?
Since special events registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, you will only be registered for the events with space remaining. A refund check will be issued for overpayment if the event is full.
WHAT IF A MOBILE WORKSHOP IS SOLD OUT?
Once a Mobile Workshop is sold out, a wait list will be available, but is limited in capacity. Once you are added to a wait list, you will be notified as space becomes available.
WHAT IS THE REGISTRATION CANCELLATION POLICY?
Conference registration and all paid events, including the Community Reception and the Mobile Workshop Registration, may be cancelled without penalty until 5:00 pm ET on October 11, 2019 via e-mail, fax, or in writing to QMS. Cancellation requests received on or after October 12, 2019 will incur a $25 processing fee. No refunds will be issued after November 11, 2019.
WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR A REFUND IF I PAID VIA A CREDIT CARD AND I CANCEL MY REGISTRATION WITHIN THE ALLOTTED TIMEFRAME?
If a conference registration paid via credit card is cancelled after 60 days, the refund cannot be credited to the credit card. A refund check must be issued.
WHAT DOES MY REGISTRATION FEE INCLUDE?
You will participate in a full educational program, which includes access to over 100 educational sessions and events, three plenary sessions with nationally-recognized speakers and leaders and the Exhibit Hall (projected to be over 100 booths). Meals are not included with your registration fee. Please note that a separate registration fee is required for affiliate events like the Community Reception and Mobile Workshops.
CAN CHILDREN ATTEND THE CONFERENCE?
While the National Brownfields Training Conference is child friendly, this is a professional training conference and there are certain aspects that would not be appropriate or safe for children. Events such as the Community Reception, Mobile Workshops and the Exhibit Hall are not recommended for children under the age of 16. Children attending other aspects of the Training Conference must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Children are not required to pay a registration fee.
ARE ANY MEALS INCLUDED WITH MY REGISTRATION FEE?
No, meals are not included with the registration fee. All attendees are responsible for covering their food and beverage costs. Generous timeslots in our educational programming were scheduled to allow attendees to experience some of Los Angeles’s wonderful restaurants located in and around the Convention Center. We also will have several food vendors available inside the exhibit hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center.

HOW MANY COMPLIMENTARY REGISTRATIONS DO EXHIBITORS RECEIVE WITH THEIR BOOTH?
Exhibitors receive three (3) full conference registrations per 10×10 booth. Once an exhibiting company exceeds its allotted number of complimentary registrations, the exhibitor will be required to select one of the other paying exhibitor registration categories.
HOW DO EXHIBITORS REGISTER FOR THE CONFERENCE?
A separate exhibitor registration site is available. Once the deposit payment has been received, an email with registration instructions will be sent.

Yes, all our exhibitors are considered conference attendees and are welcome to join the educational programming, including registering for any Mobile Workshops and the Community Reception.
Accessabilty, Parking and Transportation
HOW ACCESSIBLE IS THE LOS ANGELES CONVENTION CENTER?
The Los Angeles Convention Center is compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and is prepared to accommodate any accessibility concerns. Accessibility services include: designated parking spaces, automatic entry and exit doors along with ADA compliant manual doors, elevators that provide access to all areas of the facility, ADA compliant drinking fountains, ADA compliant signage for elevators and restrooms throughout the facility, ADA compliant restrooms, and a wheelchair life in the foyer.
WILL SCOOTERS AND WHEELCHAIRS BE AVAILABLE?
Yes, if you would like to rent a mobility scooter or wheelchair, please contact One Stop Mobility at 888-493-0509. Please advise them you will be attending the 2019 National Brownfields Training Conference at the Los Angeles Convention Center, the dates you would like to rent and the hotel you are staying. Electric Scooter rates are currently $195 with a three day minimum and will be delivered and picked up at your hotel. Non-electronic wheelchair rates are currently $139 with a three day minimum. A credit card is required to reserve the equipment. There are not wheelchairs or scooters available to rent through the Convention Center.
IS PARKING AVAILABLE AT THE LOS ANGELES CONVENTION CENTER?
The Los Angeles Convention Center can accommodate 5,600 vehicles. There are 12 EV charging stations available for electric cards – six in the South Hall Parking Garage and six in the West Hall Parking Garage. Daily parking rates range from $15 – $30. General parking garage house are 5:30am – 9:00pm daily. To access the South Hall Parking garage, turn right on Pico Blvd. Turn right on Figueroa Blvd. Turn right on Venice Blvd. Turn right on Convention Center Dr. and proceed to the parking entrance. To access the West Hall Parking garage, cross Pico Blvd. Make a right turn at the intersection of L.A. Live Way and 12th St. into the parking garage entrance.
WHICH AIRPORT IS THE CLOSEST TO THE CONFERENCE LOCATION?
The Los Angeles Convention Center is located 16 miles (approx. 40 minutes) from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
WHAT ARE THE DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO THE LOS ANGELES CONVENTION CENTER?
From the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX): Head west on W Century Blvd. toward Vicksburg Ave. Use any lane to turn left onto S Sepulveda Blvd. Use the middle lane to take the I-105 E ramp. Keep left, follow signs for Interstate 105 E/Norwalk and merge onto I-105 E. Use the right 2 lanes to take exit 7B for I-110 N/I-110 S toward Los Angeles/San Pedro. Keep left at the fork, follow signs for Interstate 110 N/Los Angeles and merge onto I-110 N. Use the 2nd from the right lane to take the I-10 W exit toward Santa Monica. Keep left, follow signs for Pico Blvd. Continue onto L.A. Live Way. Arrive at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
From the East: Take I-5 N towards Los Angeles. Use the right 2 lanes to keep right at the fork, stay on I-5 N and follow signs for I-10 W/Santa Monica/Interstate 5 N/Sacramento. Use the right 2 lanes to take the exit toward Santa Monica. Merge onto I-10 W. Use the right lane to take exit 13 for I-110 S/CA-110 N toward Downtown/San Pedro. Keep right, follow signs for Pico Blvd/Convention Center. Continue onto L.A. Live Way. Arrive at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
From the West: Take the I-10 E/Santa Monica Fwy. towards Los Angeles. Use the right 2 lanes to take exit 13 for Grand Ave. toward the Los Angeles Convention Center. Keep right at the fork, follow signs for Grand Ave. Keep right, follow signs for Convention Center/Grand Avenue/Olive St. and merge onto W 18th St. Use the left lane to merge onto W 18th St. Use the left lane to turn left onto S Olive St. Turn left at the 1st cross street onto W 17th St. Use the middle lane to take the ramp to Interstate 10 W/Interstate 110/CA-110/Harbor Fwy. Keep right at the fork, follow signs for I-110/CA-110/Harbor Fwy. Keep right, follow signs for Pico Blvd./Convention Center. Continue onto L.A. Live Way. Arrive at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
From the North: Take CA-110 south towards Los Angeles. Use the left 3 lanes to turn slightly left to stay on CA-110. Use the right lane to take exit 21 for I-10 W. Keep right, follow signs for Washington Blvd. Turn right onto Toberman St. Turn right onto Venice Blvd. Turn left onto Convention Center Dr. Use any lane to turn right onto L.A. Live Way. Arrive at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
From the South: Take I-110 N towards Los Angeles. Use the 2nd from the right lane to take the I-10 W exit toward Santa Monica. Keep left, follow signs for Pico Blvd. Continue onto L.A. Live Way. Arrive at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
WHAT ARE THE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS?
There is a free shuttle bus that connects the Los Angeles International Airport to the Aviation/LAX station of the Los Angeles County Metro Rail’s Green Line. Take the G-Bus located on the lower level of Terminal 4 from LAX to Aviation/LAX station. Board the Green Line train headed east towards Norwalk Station. Transfer to the Blue Line at Willowbrook/Rosa Parks Station. Take the Blue Line north towards Downtown LA. Exit at the Pico Station. It is approximately a 5-minute walk from Pico Station to the Los Angeles Convention Center.
WILL TRANSPORTATION BE AVAILABLE TO THE LOS ANGELES CONVENTION CENTER FROM THE HOTELS?
